After many successful meetings at the Hungarian-Ukrainian border, TFP visited some developing regions in the Northeastern part of Hungary. They got to Nyírpilis where the Tutor Foundation is helping the local Roma community – a community lacking employment opportunities, running water in their homes, and hygienic toilets. After a meeting between TFP, Tutor, and a community representative, it became clear that a waterless toilet solution utilizing TFP’s design would be an acceptable and appropriate solution for the families at Nyírpilis. Select members of the community are now using TFP toilets, and we look forward to feedback from the community and Tutor to move forward with a larger, community-scale sanitation project.
